Na Gaeil Notes Monday 30th September 2024 

 

 

Lotto results: Lotto Tue 24th September 2024. Numbers drawn were 4, 12, 22, 31. No winner. Lucky dip winners of €20 were John O’Connor, Phil Kelly, Shane Murphy, Colm Ó Conchubhair, Myra Daly. Wedding Bells: Comhghairdeas to our former senior goalkeeper Timmy Culloty who married Aoibheann O’Grady recently. We wish them a long and happy life together.

 

RIP: Our sincere sympathy to Mary Ross and her family on the passing of her mother Irene Ross (nee Lovett) last week. May she rest in peace.

 

Bingo: Last Monday night we celebrated Na Gaeil Bingo’s 14th birthday. Thank you to all our wonderful bingo patrons who have supported us over the past 14 years. Lenár bpatrúin Biongó go léir, go raibh míle maith agaibh. The Bingo Committee would also like to thank Denis Moriarty for taking the photos on the night. Tonight (Monday) our Mini Accumulater Jackpot House will be worth €270 in 47 calls. Split the bucket and raffle prizes galore. Starting time is 8pm sharp. Bus available on (087) 2817577. Over 18s only. Hope to see you all there for an excellent night out.

 

Volunteers: The club are looking for people to help out at bingo on Monday nights. If you can spare 2 hours every 5 or 6 weeks then Niamh (087-9863667) would be delighted to have you on board.

 

Hospice Coffee Morning: In spite of the inclement weather, there was a great turnout yesterday morning for the Hospice Coffee Morning & bake sale. €1,560 was raised so a huge thank you to everyone who supported this worthy cause. Mór Buíochas le gach éinne a thacaigh le Maidin Caife Na Gaeil ar son Óispís Chiarraí maidin inné. Go raibh míle míle maith agaibh as bhur bhflaithiúlacht. Ní neart go cur le chéile.

 

New-Look Website: Our new-look website is now active thanks to the great work of Kieran Fitzgerald. Check it out on www.nagaeil.ie.

 

Sky Sports: We are delighted to say that the clubhouse is now showing all the major Premier League soccer games on the big screen.

 

Kerry Ladies Team Photo: Anyone or any business interested in buying a framed photo of our All Ireland winning Kerry senior ladies team can contact any of our 5 senior players, Deirdre, Brid, Eilis, Jadyn or Mary, or text 0873400206 for more details. All money raised will go towards the team holiday.

Fé 15 buachaillí: Well done to our u15 boys who defeated Churchill last Wednesday (25th) in Killeen in the Town Board/St. Brendan’s Championship. Next Sunday (6th) they will take on Ardfert in Killeen at 11.30am.

 

Changes to Car Park: We would like to make patrons aware of the new wheelchair accessible parking bays and the yellow box for ambulance parking which were added to the club’s car parks earlier this year. Please keep them free at all times for people who need them.

Club History: During the year Michael Golden spent many hours putting together a list of notable club results & other information about the club since its foundation in 1978. This can now be found on our new website (www.nagaeil.ie). Click on the three lines in the top right hand corner. Select “About” then “Results over the Years”.

 

Hire the Hall: The hall in the clubhouse is available for parties or other events. Please email nagaeilclubhouse@gmail.com if you’d like to make a booking.

 

Na Gaeil cycle club: Cycle each Saturday at 9.30am and Wednesdays at 6.30pm from Na Gaeil club. Everyone is welcome to come for a nice friendly cycle.

 

Cards: The weekly 45 card game is held every Wednesday night starting at 9pm. Tá fáilte roimh chách.

 

Seanfhocal na Seachtaine: Ar scáth a chéile a mhaireann na daoine. Under the shadow, and with the support of one another, people survive.
