Lotto results/Torthaí an Lató: Lotto 21st January 2025. Numbers drawn were 3, 7, 10, 16. No winner. Volunteers/Cuntóirí: The club are looking for people to help out at bingo on Monday nights. If you can spare 2 hours every 5 or 6 weeks then Niamh (087-9863667) would be delighted to have you on board.

 

RIP: Our sincere sympathy to Denise & Mike Burns and family on the passing of Denise’s mother, Nora Holden (nee Fitzgerald), last week. May she rest in peace.

 

Bill Doody Memorial Tournament: Join us in making a difference as we honour the memory of Bill Doody at the Bill Doody Memorial football tournament next Saturday, February 1st. We will not only celebrate Bill’s legacy during this special event, but all proceeds raised will go to two incredible causes: the Irish Sepsis Foundation and the Irish Motor Neuron Disease Association. Clubs and places that held a special place in Bill’s heart will all come together for this one-day blitz-format competition. The following clubs will all compete in both men’s & ladies’ competitions: Na Gaeil, Fr. Casey’s Abbeyfeale, Kilgarvan, Inbhear Scéine Gaels and Liscannor. Following the tournament, there will be live music and a fantastic raffle competition for all supporters, volunteers, players & management in Na Gaeil Clubhouse. Join us for what is promised to be a brilliant night celebrating a true character & supporting these important causes. Schedule: 10.30am-3pm Ladies GAA tournament in Mounthawk school pitch and Mens GAA Tournament in Caherslee pitch. 4.45pm-6.30pm Ireland v England in Six Nations Rugby live in Na Gaeil club. 6.30pm-7pm Presentation of cups to winners/players of the Tournament. 7pm-7.15pm Raffle presentation. 7.30pm onwards Live music in Na Gaeil club. Everyone welcome!

 

Scór: Scór Sinsír Co. Final will take place on March 1st at 7pm in Dúchas, MTU. All entries to be confirmed before February 14th. Tralee/ St. Brendans District final for Scór na bPáistí will be held on March 11th at 7.30pm in Dúchas, MTU. All entries to be confirmed before March 4th.

Drámaíocht: “The Learning Curve” – a play written and directed by Mary Quirke will be performed in the club on Friday 7th & Saturday 8th March. Tickets will go on sale next month. The roles have been cast and rehearsals are underway! We will require personnel for Set design/props; Sound & Lighting; Photography/Videography; Ticket sales and PR/Marketing if anyone has particular skills in these areas, please phone Margaret at 086 0855008.

Fé 6 Buachaillí agus Cailíní; We had approx 35 players at under 6 training yesterday in Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí (V92 V82V). We focused on the basics of catching and bouncing, before moving onto catching and kicking. Training will continue there next Sunday 10am to 11am. Fé 8 Buachaillí: The U8’s group had 24 kids yesterday morning. The group enjoyed relay and circuits before concentrating on kick passing, hand passing and finishing with a competitive game. See you all next Sunday morning in Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí at 11am. New members are always welcome.

 

Fé 10 Buachaillí: U10 continued their training yesterday morning, great to see a few new faces! The boys worked on kicking accuracy, quick hand passing and fundamental movement skills. The boys will play an exhibition match during next weekend’s Bill Doody Memorial tournament and train as normal Sunday 12pm – 1pm in Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí. New members are always welcome.

 

Cailiní ag tréanáil: Our girls 2025 season will start next Sunday, 2nd February indoors in the MTU for under 8 girls, under 10 girls & under 12 girls from 9am to 10am. New members are always welcome. For more information contact Mike (087) 0508997 or Janice (085) 8424949.

 

Peil na mBan Chiarraí: Comhghairdeas! Congratulations to Na Gaeil players Hollie O’Driscoll & Roisín Reidy who have been selected on the Kerry LGFA u14 panel for 2025, to Avril Doyle & Orla Costello who have made the Kerry LGFA u16 panel for 2025 and to Eve Broderick who is part of the 2025 Kerry minor panel.

 

Cluichí Sraithe Chiarraí 2025 (LGFA): Hard luck to Deirdre Kearney, Mary O’Connell, Jadyn Lucey,  Mark Bourke and the Kerry Ladies team on their loss to Armagh last Saturday in Round 1 of the Lidl Ladies National League Division 1 in Austin Stack Park. Next Monday 3rd February in Round 2 the team will be away to Waterford in the SETU Arena at 3.45pm.

 

Sraith Náisiúnta Peile 2025: Unfortunately the Kerry v Donegal game in Round 1 of the Allianz Football League Division 1 had to be postponed due to the weather so Kerry’s first outing will now see them travel to Derry next Sunday 2nd February. The venue will be Celtic Park with a throw-in time of 12.30pm.

 

Sraith Iománaíochta Allianz 2025: Good luck to Oisín Maunsell and his team when the Kerry senior hurlers travel to Newbridge next Saturday to play Kildare at 1pm.

Sky Sports: We are delighted to say that the clubhouse is now showing all the major Premier League soccer games on the big screen.

 

Carrchlós: We would like to make patrons aware of the new wheelchair accessible parking bays and the yellow box for ambulance parking which were added to the club’s car parks earlier this year. Please keep them free at all times for people who need them.

 

Stair na Gaeil: Last year Michael Golden spent many hours putting together a list of notable club results & other information about the club since its foundation in 1978. This can now be found on our new website (www.nagaeil.ie). Click on the three lines in the top right hand corner. Select “About” then “Results over the Years”.

 

Hire the Hall/Halla ar Cíos: The hall in the clubhouse is available for parties or other events. Please email nagaeilclubhouse@gmail.com if you’d like to make a booking.

 

Na Gaeil Cycle Club/Ar do Rothar!: Cycle each Saturday at 9am from Na Gaeil club. Everyone is welcome to come for a nice friendly cycle.

 

Cartaí: The weekly 45 card game is held every Wednesday night starting at 9pm. Tá fáilte roimh chách.

 

Seanfhocal na Seachtaine: Ní he lá na gaoithe lá na scolb. The windy day is no day for thatching.
