LGFA Munster u16 Championship: Well done to Avril Doyle and her Kerry u16 team-mates who defeated Cork yesterday in the Munster u16 final. Kerry staged a mighty comback to take the game to extra time and eventually won by a point, 2-14 to 2-13.

Senior Men’s Co. League Div. 3: Yesterday our Senior men’s A team travelled to Brosna for Round 4 of the Co. League Div. 3 and were unlucky to come away empty handed after the 60 minutes. The first half was very evenly contested with the lead changing hands on a few occasions. We had points from Kieran O’Donovan, Fergal Barry, Ruairí Ó hAiniféin, Daragh Reen and Sean Barrett (all from play) by the mid-way point of the first half, due in no small way to the dominance of Stefan Okunbor in midfield. Brosna goaled in the 21st minute and they immediately added a point to move 4 points clear. Our lads responded well though and a driving run by Jamesie O’Connor resulted in a great goal. From the Brosna kickout Jack Sheehan kicked an equaliser to leave the halftime score 1-6 apiece.

Na Gaeil started the second half brightly and had bagged 2 points before Brosna kicked the only 2-point score of the game to level once more. Brosna then got their noses in front before our lads were dealt a huge blow when Stefan Okunbor had to leave the field with an injury. Kieran O’Connor got us back level but it was short lived as Brosna immediately added 1-2 without reply to put them in the driving seat with 15 minutes remaining. But fair play to our lads they upped their game and Jamesie O’Connor bagged his second goal of the game. Two points from Mark Lynch and one from Jamesie O’Connor soon followed and Na Gaeil found themselves ahead by the minimum. With 5 minutes remaining Brosna levelled and they went on to snatch a winner as the game entered injury time. Na Gaeil had 2 late chances to take away a share of the spoils but unfortunately both efforts were off target and the home side held on for a one-point victory.
