Biongó: Bingo tonight, Monday 20th. Our Mini Accumulater Jackpot House will be worth €260 in 46 calls. Also Split the Bucket and raffle prizes galore. Starting time is 8pm sharp. Bus available on (087) 2817577. Over 18s only. Hope to see you all there for an excellent night out.

 

Volunteers: The club are looking for people to help out at bingo on Monday nights. If you can spare 2 hours every 5 or 6 weeks then Niamh (087-9863667) would be delighted to have you on board.

 

Na Gaeil AGM: Our club AGM was held last Thursday and all the outgoing officers were re-elected with the exception of our Treasurer Cathy Carey who wasn’t seeking re-election. Chairman Conor Kavanagh was among a number of people who spoke and thanked Cathy for her wonderful service over many years in charge of the club’s finances and he wished her well for the future.

 

Thanks: Na Gaeil CLG would like to acknowledge the help received from Kerry County Council and the Community Support Fund 2024 in purchasing a new laptop for the club.

 

Bill Doody Memorial Tournament: The club will be running the Bill Doody Memorial tournament on the February bank holiday weekend. All of the clubs Bill played with or had a strong link to will be descending upon Tralee on Saturday 1st of February, in what promises to be a great event to kickstart the season. There will be both adult men’s and adult ladies competitions. Times and venues to be confirmed. In conjunction with this, we will be running a raffle on the day, with contributions going to the Irish Sepsis Foundation and the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association. Fantastic prizes to be won in the clubhouse on the night.

 

Drámaíocht: “The Learning Curve” – a play written and directed by Mary Quirke will be performed in the club on Friday 7th & Saturday 8th March. Tickets will go on sale next month. The roles have been cast and rehearsals are underway! We will require personnel for Set design/props; Sound & Lighting; Photography/Videography; Ticket sales and PR/Marketing if anyone has particular skills in these areas, please phone Margaret at 086 0855008.

 

U6 Boys & Girls Training: Our under 6 boys & girls were in action bright and early yesterday morning in Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí (V92 V82V). Training will continue there next Sunday 10am to 11am. For more information contact Helen (087) 7631977 or Shane (086) 8380434.

 

U8 Boys Training: The U8’s Academy were quick on their feet yesterday morning. The group of 20 dusted the relays and circuits. Skills training involved hand passing, soloing and kicking. The group finished with 2 games using their hand passing skills. See you all next Sunday morning in Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí at 11am. New members are always welcome.

 

U10 Boys Training: Our u10 boys continued training yesterday morning. They worked on their skills, playing mini games and developing their fundamental movement skills in the gym. Great to see everyone again in top form. Hope to see you all again next Sunday in Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí from 12pm to 1pm. New members are always welcome.

 

Girls Juvenile Training: Our girls 2025 season will start on Sunday 2nd February indoors in the MTU for under 8 girls, under 10 girls & under 12 girls from 9am to 10am. New members are always welcome. For more information contact Mike (087) 0508997 or Janice (085) 8424949.

 

Kerry LGFA: Congratulations to Na Gaeil players Hollie O’Driscoll & Roisín Reidy who have been selected on the Kerry LGFA u14 panel for 2025 and also well done to Avril Doyle & Orla Costello who have made the Kerry LGFA u16 panel for 2025.

Kerry LGFA National League 2025: Best wishes to Deirdre Kearney, Mary O’Connell, Jadyn Lucey, Mark Bourke and the Kerry Ladies team when they take on Armagh next Saturday in Round 1 of the Lidl Ladies National League Division 1. Throw-in is at 1.30pm in Austin Stack Park.

 

Kerry Mens National Football League 2025: Good luck to Diarmuid O’Connor and Damien Bourke when Kerry play Donegal in Round 1 of the Allianz Football League Division 1 next Sunday in Fitzgerald Stadium.

 

Kerry Mens National Hurling League Fixtures 2025: Kerry will play in Division 2 of the Allianz Hurling League in 2025. Their fixtures are as follows: Saturday 1st Feb: Kildare v Kerry in Newbridge at 1pm. Sunday 9th Feb: Kerry v Derry in Austin Stack Park at 1pm. Sunday 23rd Feb: Donegal v Kerry in Letterkenny at 1pm. Saturday 1st Mar: Kerry v Meath in Austin Stack Park at 3.30pm. Sunday 9th Mar: Kerry v Down in Austin Stack Park at 1pm. Saturday 22nd Mar: Tyrone v Kerry in Carrickmore at 2.30pm.

Sky Sports: We are delighted to say that the clubhouse is now showing all the major Premier League soccer games on the big screen.

 

Changes to Car Park: We would like to make patrons aware of the new wheelchair accessible parking bays and the yellow box for ambulance parking which were added to the club’s car parks earlier this year. Please keep them free at all times for people who need them.

 

Club History: Last year Michael Golden spent many hours putting together a list of notable club results & other information about the club since its foundation in 1978. This can now be found on our new website (www.nagaeil.ie). Click on the three lines in the top right hand corner. Select “About” then “Results over the Years”.

 

Hire the Hall: The hall in the clubhouse is available for parties or other events. Please email nagaeilclubhouse@gmail.com if you’d like to make a booking.

 

Na Gaeil Cycle Club: Cycle each Saturday at 9am from Na Gaeil club. Everyone is welcome to come for a nice friendly cycle.

 

Cards: The weekly 45 card game is held every Wednesday night starting at 9pm. Tá fáilte roimh chách.

 

Seanfhocal na Seachtaine: Is gaire cabhair Dé ná an doras. God’s help is nearer than the door.
