Senior Men’s B Team: Our Senior men’s B lost to Ballymac B in the Co. League Div. 7B last Saturday night in Killeen.
Senior Men’s A Team: Yesterday Cordal were our visitors to Killeen for round 7 of the Co. League Div. 3. and despite our lads leading by 6 points on 3 separate occasions it was Cordal who ultimately took home the spoils. Na Gaeil started brightly and raced into a 4 points to nil lead courtesy of points from James O’Connor, Seán O’Connor and a 2-point free from our keeper Conor Bohane. Cordal hit back with 2 points either side of a penalty to take the lead. A point apiece from Tomás Ó hAiniféin and Kieran O’Connor got our noses in front and soon afterwards Damien Bourke finished to the net after a poor kickout from the Cordal keeper. Further points from Kieran and Sean O’Connor extended our lead to a comfortable 6 points entering injury time. However Cordal added 2 late points to leave the half time score Na Gaeil 1-8, Cordal 1-4. Conor Bohane kicked a 2-point free at the start of the 2nd half but this was cancelled out by a point from play and one from a free for Cordal. In the 8th minute another 2-point free from the very accurate Conor Bohane moved Na Gaeil ahead by 6. Cordal hit back with a point from play and soon added a goal. Conor Bohane slotted over a free to restore a 3 point lead for the home side but again Cordal replied with 2 frees to leave just the minimum between the teams with 25 minutes gone. Kieran O’Donovan kicked a point to push the lead out to 2 but that was to be our last score. Cordal added 1-2 to their tally in injury time to lead by 3 points. Na Gaeil did win a last-minute penalty but Dara Devine’s effort was well saved by the Cordal keeper.
